NK Chemicals is the largest single lanolin manufacturing unit in the world. It employs a fully automated, computerized process control system which is capable of converting some l0,000 tons per annum of woolgrease. In addition to various grades of lanolin the plant produces high quality liquid lanolin, lanolin wax, lanolin alcohols and acids, cholesterol and isopropyl lanolate. All of NKC's processes are covered by ISO 900l certification and early in 2OO4 NKC was granted a Certificate of Suitability by the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines (EDQM), covering the processing of Wool Fat (Woolgrease) into European Pharmacopoeia Monograph materials.
